Just like oils

I have been super busy getting stuck in to painting in photoshop. I have to say after a fe w weeks of moaning about the slow progress I really love it. It's a lot like oil painting which I love but don't do now I have my own house to stink out even though I never worried about soaking my mom's carpet with turps! opps! 

Now I have come up for air I thought I better show what I have been up to, reworking My Japanese fairy only she isn't a fairy anymore. She is more of a dove taming girl. I really need to get some better titles for my stuff,  I once did a huge painting of a lots of fruit and called it 'The fruit painting' inspired!

I hate art day

I am having an I hate art day! In fact I don't, I am perhaps a little too obsessed with it. I want to spend all day doing it which is a problem when Ollie thinks I should be in his rabbit hutch (2 chairs with a sheet over.) I did try to drag the lap top in the hutch yesterday but it was a little cramped. Ollie is asleep now which means he will be running around till ten tonight! No art time! So I decided I hate it because If I didn't do any maybe I wouldn't have this guilt conflict mum art thing. I think I am kidding myself though if it wasn't art it would be something else I don't think grown ups are meant to sit in rabbit hutches all day! Plus I have been looking on Deviant art and there are so many super talented people on it it makes you want to give up. And while the moaning is going on I printed some of my badges and some are great but some are quite frankly rubbish so back to the drawing board. Been doing loads of writing though thats why not many pictures have been going up. I can do that anywhere, the park etc... and Ollie lets me read it to him, he has started quoting my story along with The Mr Men.

Domestic stuff

With the rising cost of living recently I am getting quite conscious of conserving energy and have starting saying things to Ian like "quick get in the kitchen and make the tea before we have to boil the kettle again." (Note I am too lazy to do it myself.)

Washing... I hung some on the line Thursday, it has dried three times over. It is now Sunday has started to rain and it's still out there! Not good wife and mother skills, just waiting for the complaints.

More badge packaging

This is another frame to be printed onto card so I can pin my badges in the centre and make them look pretty! I am having a lot of fun doing this.

The Butterfly Woods

I have been doing some tinkering with this painting, a slight color change, a name change and of course the butterflies. I like it a lot more now!

The love pixies

This is my little love pixies painting, the bottom one with the original colours and just underneath a version of the girl that I played with in photoshop, oh and the butterflies they are going on everything at the moment.

I stumbled upon it though another bloggers site. A free on-line portfolio of three images is available through a selection process so I am very happy to have been accepted. I think I will probably upgrade my portfolio at some point but I have a sore head at the moment because I am also uploading my stuff to deviant art! Oh I'm not good at this stuff it takes me an age and I just keep thinking painting time ticking away, but no complaints, tonight is Tuesday and the only good TV night we have at the moment, Battlestar Galactica and Smallville such treats!

Cuckoo clock tattoo commission

I got asked by the lovely bubbly Kelli to design a Cuckoo clock tattoo. It started off as a tree but then Kelli came up with the idea of a cuckoo clock, it is going to be on her back with the weights hanging down, (how sexy). I can't wait to see the final results but she has to save up for the tattoo first after paying me, ha! It was fun working with Kelli, she had loads of good ideas and I have some great work that has come out of the project once I get a chance to work on it.

Badge packaging

This is a design for packaging for my badges. It will be printed onto card and the badge will be pinned in the centre. I hate calling it packaging I am always torn between making things look pretty and being eco friendly but I also need to make them look good, dilemma!

Making badges

A lot of my paintings are quite complex I think I get a bit carried away, it keeps me entertained painting them but they end up too detailed to see in small scale so I am taking some time from making to see what  I can do with what I already have!
I have been having fun making badge designs for when I get my badge making machine!
