Favourite Artists
I have been buying everything i can find by Camillia d'Errico because i absolutley love her work.
The print in the middle is now on our wall it's brilliant, shame my photo flashed it out a little.
The Postcards books are great, the comics are great, the sketch book is great (her black and white work if just genius.)
what can I say she draws so well I am totally inspired.
I read the Avril Lavigne's make 5 wishes even though I brought it for the art. I wanted to lend it to my niece because Avril Lavigne and Manga are two of her favorite things but it's a little too old for her. At first I thought somebody give the girl some prozac, just kidding I'm prefer my natural remedies and exercise. But I don't think I can remember teenage angst, I must have blocked it out. Once the little demon arrived I really enjoyed it and I think I will have to get no 2 even though it's illustrated by another artist.
She has a very easy to use website where you can see her work and buy some of this stuff.
Stella So I saw her work in an exhibition at Urbis in Manchester and I really loved it. I loved the vibrant colours, the quirkiness and the story telling element, truly top notch and excellent drawing skills which always has to be admired.
STUDIOAKA for most in my mind because I am waiting for my copy of Varmints to drop on the map it's a children's book written by Helen Ward and Illustrated by Marc Craste. I haven't seen it but I am sure I won't be disappointed because I already have JOJO In The Stars A Film by Marc Craste and it's beautiful, you can buy it from the STUDIOAKA website they also do really cute little animated Christmas cards amongst other things.
My Varmints arrived It is quite dark for a children's book but in a beautiful way. The illustrations are subtle and full of atmosphere. I will see what Ollie thinks of it soon but for now I will keep it to myself (I don't really want torn pages in my lovely book.)
Jake Parker I love this guys work especially his super cute stories in Flight.
The Robot and the sparrow in Flight Volume Two
Hugo Earhart in Flight Volume one.
Mari Inukai I love all her work I think she may be my favorite contemporary we have some of her prints in our house and they are so cool.
So funny.
