My Book

Ollerina's Adventures is a children's book I am writing and Illustrating it's a labour of love and a long term project I'm having trouble finishing, it keeps changing.

It is about....
a girl called Ollerina who is an adventurer detective.
Her best friend and side kick is Dandy Monkey who's enthusiasm for bananas is unrivalled.
Clarence is a vegetarian, fine china collecting, cucumber sandwich loving, vampire bat,
and The Magic Bag  is stuffed full of holes, each one a portal to a new world and new adventure.

 

The book has undergone many changes. It was originally intended to be a picture book and started as an excuse to paint the pictures I wanted to paint. It now has a life of it's own and has turned into a chapter book. Quite a surprise because the illustrations were always the main part of my idea for a children's book. I have loads to learn but it's great fun at the moment I am surprising myself.

The book will have black and white illustrations and be intended for the 7+ age group. I don't have a publisher yet probably because I haven't written it, Ha! I'm sure I won't be laughing when I start looking for one I have heard many heartbreak tales of rejection it's a tough business.

I probably won't say much more about my book for a while because the more I work on it the further away it seems to get. Dropping the illustrations has been very liberating the story has changed so much and for the better so I'll just keep plodding on with it.
